Each-Way

An each-way bet is two bets of equal stake — one for the win and one for the place — so a $50 each-way wager costs $100. It returns both dividends if the horse wins and only the place dividend if it runs second or third. Australian place betting pays the first three when eight or more runners start, and the first two in fields of five to seven.
