Cash Out

Cash out lets a bettor close a position before the event settles, taking a figure the bookmaker calculates from the current market. It returns more than the stake when the selection has shortened and less when it has drifted. The offered figure always carries a margin, so cashing out repeatedly costs more than letting bets run — it is a risk-management tool, not a profit strategy.

In use

A $50 bet at $6.00 on a horse now trading at $2.50 might be offered a $110 cash out.
