Correct Weight

Correct weight is the announcement made once the placed riders have weighed in at the weight they were allotted and the stewards are satisfied the result stands. Dividends are not paid until correct weight is declared. Where a protest is lodged or a rider weighs in light, correct weight is delayed and the result may change — which is why an apparently settled result is not final until the call is made.

In use

Punters could not collect until correct weight was declared after the protest was dismissed.
