Acceptance

Acceptance is the stage at which a trainer confirms a nominated horse will take its place in the field. Nominations close first and produce a long list; acceptances cut that list to the runners who will contest the race, and barriers are drawn from the accepted field. Final acceptances in Australian racing are typically taken two or three days before the meeting, which is when a card becomes analysable.
