A trifecta requires nominating the first three finishers in correct order. It is the most popular of the Australian ordered exotics, sitting between the exacta and the First Four in difficulty and dividend. Structures range from a single line to a full box, and standout betting — anchoring one runner in a position and covering others around it — is the usual compromise between coverage and cost.
