Track Rider

A track rider exercises racehorses in morning trackwork, riding gallops, canters and jump-outs. Many are former or aspiring jockeys, and some ride work exclusively without race riding. Their feedback on how a horse is travelling is a primary input to a trainer's placement decisions, and trackwork reports based on their gallops are a staple of racing media.
