Master
A master is the licensed trainer to whom an apprentice jockey is indentured for the duration of their apprenticeship. The master is responsible for the apprentice's education, riding opportunities and welfare, and typically provides the rides that build the apprentice's record. The relationship explains why apprentices ride a disproportionate share of one stable's runners.
