Nominator

The nominator is the party that enters a horse for a race, usually the registered owner or the managing owner acting for a syndicate. Nominations close well before acceptances and produce a long preliminary list from which the final field is drawn. The nominator's name appears on official documentation and is distinct from the trainer, though the trainer normally lodges the entry on the owner's behalf.

In use

Nominations closed on Monday with thirty-one horses entered for the feature.
