Listed Race

A Listed race sits immediately below Group 3 and is the entry level of black-type racing. Winning or placing in one earns the bolded catalogue listing that adds breeding value, which is why Listed races attract fields well above ordinary handicap standard. For form analysis, a step from Benchmark company into Listed grade is a meaningful class rise even though both may carry similar prize money.
